OUR STORY

 

My name is Noreen and I am the owner and creator of Starfish Coast. I am a pediatric nurse, wife to Matthew, dog mama to Milo and Jet, and lover of food, penguins, the beach, and starfish. The inspiration for Starfish Coast came to me one night while I was working an overnight shift in the pediatric ER. While I enjoy taking care of the littles, the goal was to one day get out of working nights, weekends and holidays, having to request off and just feeling burnt out by healthcare in general. My ultimate dream is to work for myself and have the privilege of creating my own schedule, creating things I love, and making things that bring joy to others, while being able to financially support myself, my husband and our two dog babies (and future doggies!) I started this journey in November 2022 with a Glowforge and creating small items for Christmas such as ornaments and gift tags. My love for creating continued to grow and I found excitement in creating all kinds of items. Over the last year I have been able to grow my business and was able to upgrade my laser to a Thunder 51 so I can continue to create bigger and better things! We also added a heat press for apparel, as well as a Cricut Joy Xtra for making badge reels! We started attending craft fairs + vendor events! I also have to shout out my husband as he helps me tremendously - even going so far as to running vendor shows while I am working weekends in the pediatric ER. There are so many ideas I want to bring to life and I am excited to see how Starfish Coast grows in the years to come.
